Death of Terry’s Online Marketing Review
It had to be done
Yesterday I decided to change the name and direction of this blog, and for very good reason, I might add.
For one thing I did not like where it was headed, I got somewhat de-focused and in an attempt to quickly monetize this blog I almost forgot the number 1 rule that content is king. My posts were starting to look more like cheesy sales letters for used cars than open and honest dialogue, which is what blogging is all about.
So, Where do we go from here
Now that we are back on track, Welcome to BlogEvolution2.0 soon to become a household name! OK…maybe not soon but…hopefully…one day, annnnnyway as I continue to do my due diligence in this industry I hope to engage and entertain the entrepreneur inside of you. Who knows maybe we’ll even learn something useful along the way.
I mean with guys like Lisa Irby over at www.2createawebsite.com and Dave Taylor at www.blogsmart.com (yes I am a notorious name dropper…get used to it) to study and learn from I have no doubts that you and I are in for a pretty good ride my friend.
Tip of the day
If you want to make money through blogging, creating a popular blog is the key to success. If your blog receives very little traffic, you will not have much success monetizing it. No matter which method you
use to make money from your blog, you will find the most success if you have a large readership. Which will never happen if your blog looks like some half baked ad farm with no purpose other than to sell your readers the next big thing (which happens to come along about every other day).
Because of this, making your blog relevant to a growing readership should be your primary concern.
A Little Market Research Will Go A Long Way
Over the past couple of weeks I have been consuming everything I can get my hands, eyes and ears on pertaining to “Internet/Online Marketing”. Let me tell you, it’s been quite interesting to say the least. I have seen a lot of garbage being passed off as “little known secrets”or “hidden techniques”or “secrets they don’t want you to know about”etc…You know , the same ol’ BS I’m sure that you have seen a thousand times by now.
And OMG, what’s the deal with all of the so called PLR (private label rights) crap floating around out there. Most of the people pushing this stuff don’t even take the time to rebrand or change the graphics on the products and some of the packages I’ve seen even come with the software to do that for them. No wonder somewhere between 96 and 99% of the people who attempt to make money in this business flat out fail or give up.
However there is still hope. While sifting through the minutia, I was able to find a few gems and pearls. Some of which led me to create this blog, complete with step by step instructions on how to set it up. I’m amazed at the information I am receiving from some of the free reports, audios and even videos the I have come across recently.
One such report on how to get 10% conversion rates was excellent. It’s only about 20 pages long and there was absolutely no fluff. Those of you who’s been in this business for more than a week know that those kind of numbers can make for a pretty good income. Put it this way, once I implement the strategies taught by this report, I have no doubt that they will make money for me. By the way I will be posting a link to this free report in the very near future.
I found some audio training and interviews that I have downloaded to my mp3 player. I can listen to the likes of Willie Crawford, Stephen Pierce, Armand Morin, Mark Joyner, Mike Filsaime, Russell Brunson and Alex Goad just to name a few. However some of these audios came with programs that I purchased, once I get it all sorted out I will share what I can without stepping over any legal lines. Let just say that some of the information that I got from these interviews alone is enough to take your business to “a whole nother stratosphere”.
And finally the videos, Wow…did you know that you can find free videos on how to generate traffic, how to set up a blog for affiliate marketing, how to create squeeze pages, how to upload files to your website and how to build your list. I’m talking straightforward no BS “teach-a-newbie from scratch” type stuff here.
I’ve also join a few forums, found a couple of mentors, researched several niches and came up with a couple of product ideas, all within the last few weeks. And I’m literally just getting started. Just think of what we can do together.
Until next time,
Terry
